McAfee, Inc. the leader in intrusion prevention and security risk management proactively secures systems and networks from undiscovered threats worldwide. McAfee had recently updated its SecurityCenter product and needed get the word out not only to current but also to prospective customers. McAfee turned to Flickerbox for an original online educational tool and marketing resource that could be highly customized and reflected McAfee's global reach.
Challenges
McAfee needed two different Demos each communicating a different message with varying amounts of content to a specific audience. Encouraging users to upgrade to the new product, the Current Subscriber Demo needed explore the exciting feature offerings and changes to the user interface. In contrast, the New User Demo would focus on high level product benefits introducing and educating users on the McAfee security product. In addition, Demo content and tone had to take into account that individual user experience and familiarity with the McAfee product varied.
While the Demos needed to be fresh with visual material that would translate across many different countries, it was also important that they visually complement existing McAfee campaign messaging and collateral.
As a global leader, the message of McAfee's product update and exciting new product features needed to be delivered consistently, across 22 countries for 18 languages. Once localized for each language the Demos needed to be tailored for each of McAfee's 8 Partners. Each McAfee Partner offered their own version of the updated McAfee SecurityCenter with various combinations of McAfee product features and services.
Solution
Flickerbox created two dynamic SecurityCenter Demos: a 7 minute product walk-though for Current Subscribers and a shorter 3 minute advertorial piece for New Users. The Current Subscriber Demo walked users through the new McAfee SecurityCenter featuring product screenshots, voice over, and original animations for conceptual portions such as the introduction. Broken out into chapters and smaller units, users could easily navigate through to different portions of the Demo to learn about individual McAfee features and services new to this update. Designed to entice viewers to sign up for the McAfee SecurityCenter service, the shorter New User Demo featured a music loop, custom photography of a family using the internet in their daily lives and compelling transition animations. Each of these elements were aimed at conveying the protection which McAfee can provide to you and your family while surfing the net.
Once the Demos were completed, Flickerbox worked with McAfee teams across the globe localizing the Demos for 18 languages integrating the appropriate new voice over and product screenshots specific to the language. Animation and closed captioning were then resynched to accommodate varying language length. Working with the 18 localized Demos, Flickerbox next tailored them for each McAfee Partner removing or altering feature units, voice over, and product screenshots to accommodate the McAfee features offered by each Partner.
